Let's start with the introductions.
I'm Luciano Dalbert, nice to meet you all, I'm from Chile and my mother tongue is spanish, so you may find some horrible mistakes in my writing that will make you shudder with disgust.
So I will try to have things to say that go beyond my writing.
What I want to write about here are all the strange, or perhaps naive, ideas about ttrpg that are crawling (or buzzing may be more accurate) in my mind.
But I don't have any particularly deep sociological or philosophical take on games, nor do I have the vast ttrpg experience that many others have and are exploring in their own amazing blogs.
So I'll start easy, with something you might be interested in, and with an approach that I can keep myself accountable in doing so.
I'm going to start with creatures, so here is the pitch: Creatures once every two weeks, explored through the voice of an alchemist, Octaria Pulnassea.
The creatures will be dissected and studied by Octaria. So in Octaria Pulnassea's notes you will find descriptions of their appearance, some dissections, as well as local rumors about the creatures, but most importantly, how to use them, and what you harvest from them, to prepare alchemical/magical substances.
Initially I'm going to try to give simple stat blocks for these creatures as well, for OSR-style systems, probably in the vein of Into the Odd/Weird North/Cairn, and maybe also in the current dnd/pathfinder-style (I'd love to include more stat blocks for other system, but the only other style of games I'm comfortable with are the ones from World of Darkness, yes, Vampire was the first game I played).
I don't know how good this is as a first post, sure, I might have to tell you a bit about my games. I have a drivethruRPG page (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/21602/Ultima-Vela), and there you can find two games (a one page game where you play as a bird impersonating a human, to stop a project that is endangering your habitat, and a 20 page game where you play as a being coming from the underworld, to hunt the myths born from the tales campers tell around the fire), also I have a cooperative spell system that can be used in OSR, but maybe I'll talk more about all of them in future posts.
So let's get started, first creature in the next post!
